The sunrise flip book is an movie that consists of seven images which create an image of a sun rising.
The sunrise flip book was our introduction into animation as we created a movie using seven hand-drawn photos which were put at top speed to create an appearance of a sun rising into the sky. We created the flip book by drawing seven different images that lead up to a sun rising and then the images were scanned, cropped, and then put into a movie using Windows Movie Maker. The purpose of creating the sunrise flip book was to introduce ourselves to animation as we prepared to create our final animation. The effort put into creating seven slides of an animation lead to our appreciation for animated movies that use many more slides like the movies created in Pixar or Dreamworks. The creating of the flip book also could be applied to different classes in school. One of these classes could be English. You could create a flip book that illustrates scenes from a book your are reading in class or to simplify the explanation of current events in your weekly presentations. The technique of creating the flip book can also be used in physics as we can use the motion of different objects to show the forces acting upon the object and the energies used in the motion.
